Everton Set to Launch Bid for Wilfred Ndidi This Summer

Everton are reportedly preparing to make a bid for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi ahead of the upcoming transfer window, DAILY POST confirms.

The Nigerian international is eager to leave Leicester following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season. Although Ndidi signed a new three-year contract with the Foxes last summer, the deal includes a £9 million release clause, making a move possible.

Everton had previously attempted to sign the defensive midfielder before last season but were turned down by Ndidi. However, the club has now renewed its interest in the 28-year-old, aiming to strengthen their midfield options.

Earlier this year, French Ligue 1 side Monaco expressed interest in Ndidi, but Leicester rejected their offer. Additionally, several clubs from Saudi Arabia are reportedly keen on signing the player, prepared to offer him a lucrative contract.

Ndidi joined Leicester City in January 2017 from Belgian club KRC Genk. He has since become a key figure at the club, playing a crucial role in their 2020/21 Emirates FA Cup victory. Over his time at Leicester, Ndidi has made 252 appearances and scored 11 goals.

Everton’s pursuit of Ndidi highlights their ambition to bolster their squad as they prepare for the challenges of the new season.
