Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has shared his excitement over Marcus Rashford’s loan switch to FC Barcelona, describing the move as a major gain for the Catalan club and a big loss for the Red Devils.
The transfer, which sees Rashford head to Barcelona on loan, has been finalized with all paperwork completed. The England international has already arrived in Spain and is undergoing his medical with the La Liga champions.
As part of the deal, Rashford has agreed to a 15% pay cut, reducing his gross salary to €14 million per year (€7 million net). The agreement also includes a €30 million buy option, set for June 2026.
Reacting to the news in a conversation with YouTuber IShowSpeed, Pogba said:
“That’s crazy. I’m happy for him. Manchester United is losing a great player! That’s great for Barcelona.”
Pogba and Rashford were close teammates during their time together at Old Trafford, and the Frenchman’s comments reflect both admiration for Rashford’s decision and acknowledgment of what United will be missing.
Rashford’s move to Barcelona marks a new chapter in his career as he looks to rediscover form and consistency under the bright lights of La Liga.
