Dangote Cement plc has finally responded to public outcry by dispatching senior executives—alongside its insurance team—to visit Ruth Otabor, the younger sister of reality TV star Phyna, at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital in Edo State. Their visit followed a truck accident linked to the Dangote Group that led to one of Ruth’s legs being amputated, with medical professionals now also fearing for her other leg. The company confirmed it will cover her full medical treatment and compensation under its welfare policy.
Rather than feeling relieved, Phyna’s reaction has been laced with continued frustration. She publicly lambasted the company for what she perceived as a cover-up—especially after she alleged that police removed the truck’s license plate at the company’s direction instead of rushing to her sister’s side. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she reminded the company, “Na money you get—you won’t be God… But my God is bigger.”
Celebrity voices have amplified the family’s pain and demand for justice:
But the question in a lot of minds towards Phyna’s dissatisfaction “What does she want?”
