The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has been declared winner of the 2025 Anambra State governorship election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

The Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Edoba Omoregie, announced the results on Sunday at the state collation centre in Awka, declaring Soludo the duly elected governor after securing a decisive victory across all 21 local government areas.
According to INEC, Soludo polled 422,664 votes to defeat his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 99,445 votes. Sir Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes.
Out of 2,788,864 registered voters, a total of 598,229 were accredited to vote, while 595,298 votes were cast and 11,244 votes were rejected across the 21 local government areas.

| PDP | — | 1,401 |
| ADC | — | 8,208 |

While announcing the final results, Prof. Omoregie said:
“The total number of registered voters was 2,788,864, accredited voters were 598,229, valid votes stood at 584,054, rejected votes were 11,244, and total votes cast amounted to 595,298.
Having satisfied the constitutional requirements and received the highest number of valid votes cast, I, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, hereby declare Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance winner and returned elected.”
INEC also reported that minor disruptions in Anambra West, Anaocha, Awka South, and Onitsha South LGAs led to the cancellation of 10,481 votes, but the margin of lead between the top candidates was large enough to maintain Soludo’s victory.
Soludo’s performance was a clean sweep, as he won in all 21 local government areas — a feat that reaffirms APGA’s political dominance in Anambra State.
Observers described the election as largely peaceful, though voter turnout remained modest compared to the number of registered voters.
This victory cements Soludo’s grip on Anambra politics and reinforces APGA’s position as the state’s most enduring political platform. It also signals continuity in the current administration’s developmental agenda, especially in infrastructure, education, and digital governance reforms.
