The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, will be public holidays in observance of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, made this declaration on behalf of the government.
In a press statement signed by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, the Minister extended his congratulations to all members of the Muslim Ummah, both within Nigeria and in the Diaspora, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. He encouraged Muslims to embody the spirit of sacrifice and faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) and to use this period to pray for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also assured Nigerians that the ongoing people-oriented reforms and initiatives under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aim to restore Nigeria on the path of progress. He urged all citizens to support the current administration’s efforts to restore Nigeria’s glory as a great nation.
