Popular Nigerian skit maker and influencer, Carter Efe, has reportedly lost access to his Instagram and TikTok accounts just days after publicly criticizing Afrobeats star Wizkid during a live session.
During a TikTok live on Tuesday, Carter Efe sparked controversy when he labeled Wizkid as “proud” and called him an “idiot.” He remarked, “If Wizkid calls me ‘my G’, that means Lion don get belle. E no fit happen. That boy too get pride, idiot.”
The comments triggered a swift backlash from Wizkid’s fan base, known as Wizkid FC, who allegedly began mass reporting Carter Efe’s social media accounts. By Wednesday evening, the comedian confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) that his Instagram account, which had 1.8 million followers, had been taken down.
Shortly afterward, Carter Efe shared an emotional apology video revealing that his TikTok account had also been removed. “FC una collect my Instagram account of 1.8 million followers,” he posted, adding, “TikTok account gone, FC una betrayed me… Abeg make una forgive me Wizkid FC. Wizkid abeg no vexxx help me beg FC abeggggg I’m in severe pain.”
It remains unclear whether his accounts were permanently banned or temporarily suspended.
