"Cole Palmer: Chelsea Star Reflects on Overcoming Doubters After Thrashing PSG at Club World Cup"

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has responded defiantly to critics after leading his team to a commanding 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the 2025 Club World Cup final.

Playing at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Palmer delivered a standout performance, scoring twice and assisting Joao Pedro for the third goal as the Blues dominated their French opponents to lift the trophy.

Speaking to DAZN after the match, Palmer addressed the pre-match skepticism surrounding Chelsea’s chances.
“Even better, because obviously everyone doubted us before the game,” he said. “I like finals and it happened again.”

The England international was full of praise for Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, whose tactical approach proved decisive.
“The gaffer put a great game plan out. He knew where the space was going to be. I just had to repay him and score some goals,” Palmer added.

He concluded by emphasizing the progress being made under Maresca: “He’s building something special. We are going in the right direction.”

Palmer’s brilliance throughout the tournament earned him the Player of the Tournament accolade, capping off a memorable campaign for both him and Chelsea.
