Meet the Mathematic Prodigy

  • Faith is currently a final‑year student at the Ambassadors School in Ota, Ogun State. Her father is a medical doctor, and her mother runs a business. Faith notably credits her father for her math skills.
  • She has an impressive track record—competing in national Olympiads since JSS2, earning the “Queen of Mathematics” title for three consecutive years, and earning medals at Kangourou sans Frontières, the South African Mathematics Olympiad, and a silver medal at the Pan‑African Mathematics Olympiad in 2019 .

How She Prepared & Won

This fierce competition used computer-based rounds—from group stages to finals via Microsoft Teams. Faith scored 66 points in both initial rounds, then dominated the final stages, ultimately defeating her rivals with unmatched speed and accuracy.
She prepared after school with her teacher’s guidance and often studied late into the night, from around 11 pm to midnight.


Faith Odunsi’s achievement underscores the rich intellectual talent emerging from Nigeria’s classrooms. She is a symbol of ambition, discipline, and hope—especially for young girls looking to break barriers in STEM fields.
