A fire broke out on Saturday morning at Embakasi Girls High School in Nairobi, engulfing one of the school’s dormitories.
The Kenya Red Cross confirmed the incident and stated that emergency efforts to contain the fire were immediately initiated.
“Fire at Embakasi Girls’ School, Nairobi County. Efforts to contain it are underway,” the Red Cross said in a public update.
Responders from the Nairobi Fire Brigade, the Kenya Red Cross Action Team, and the Community-Based Response Team quickly arrived at the scene and began working to bring the fire under control.
As of the latest reports, no injuries or casualties have been recorded. Authorities are currently assessing the extent of damage caused by the blaze.
