A renewed political wind is blowing: Mathias Baba Tsado, ex-presidential aspirant for the Action Democratic Party (ADP), has urged associates of former President Goodluck Jonathan to persuade him to contest in Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election, citing his integrity, leadership, and the current national disarray.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily, Tsado pleaded:
“Those who have his contacts… should speak to him… ‘Please come and run, sir, because the Nigerian people today need you.’” Channels Television
He emphasized Jonathan’s dignified statesmanship, recalling how he gracefully conceded defeat in 2015, demonstrating that “his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian” — a gesture that earned him lasting public goodwill.
