Chinyere<\/strong>, the proud mother of a final-year student, Promise Okoro<\/strong>, has revealed the emotional reason behind gifting her son a live goat to celebrate his academic completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The gesture, which was captured in a viral video, showed crowds of cheering students surrounding the pair as Chinyere handed over the goat and embraced her son tightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking in an interview with BBC News Pidgin<\/em>, Chinyere explained that the unique gift was her way of rewarding Promise for keeping his word, obeying her instructions, remaining respectful, and staying entirely away from cultism throughout his years on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She shared that before he left for school, she vowed to give him a special surprise if he completed his studies without disappointing the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI don\u2019t have money for a 4matic jeep, and I love that guy, my son. I said, let me buy this goat as a gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhen he was going to school, I told him not to affiliate himself with cultism and to make me proud by not dropping out. I told him that if he made me proud, I was going to surprise him. He didn\u2019t disappoint me.\u201d \u2014 Chinyere, Mother<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Chinyere revealed that she purchased the goat for \u20a6120,000<\/strong>, adding that even if it had cost \u20a6200,000, she would have done everything possible to fulfill her promise. I came, happy and deeply emotional. I wasn\u2019t ashamed. I was extremely happy.
