NDE opens portal for vocational training of 27,000 unemployed Nigerians—that’s the big headline making waves today as the registration portal for Phase Two of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI) goes live. The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) officially kicked off online registration on July 28, targeting 27,000 citizens aged 18 to 45, with valid National Identification Numbers (NIN).
Within just one hour of launch, over 16,470 applicants had already registered, confirming the urgency among job seekers eager for upskilling and opportunity.
The Renewed Hope Jobs Scheme is a signature programme under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, designed to tackle youth unemployment through training in relevant vocational, digital, and entrepreneurial skills. The digital registration platform has been enhanced with robust software, hardware, and internet connections across all 37 states and the FCT to ensure smooth service delivery.
Applicants can now register from July 28 to August 11, 2025, with processing expected between August 12 and August 22. A key improvement in this phase is that applicants can select their state of residence instead of only state of origin during registration.
Applicants will choose from over 30 different skill programmes, tailored to each state’s economic landscape, such as tailoring, ICT, agro-processing, solar energy, and bookkeeping. Training will take place at 800 accredited centres nationwide.
Eligible Nigerians must register via the official portal: [www.nderegistrationportal.ng] between July 28 and August 11, 2025. Participation is entirely free, and warnings have been issued to report any fraud or unofficial registration attempts.
