The marital crisis between Senator Ned Nwoko and popular Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, has taken a dramatic turn as both parties publicly traded accusations involving drug use, harassment, and manipulation on social media over the weekend.
The senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko, alleged that Regina’s brother, Sammy Daniels, had repeatedly harassed his children and domestic staff, and even introduced the actress to drug use.
In a lengthy statement shared via his X handle on Saturday, Nwoko claimed he had spent heavily on Regina’s family, including sponsoring Sammy’s education at the University of Ekpoma and transferring over ₦125 million to Regina’s mother in two years.
“These videos show Sammy repeatedly coming to my home and harassing my children and domestic staff, especially whenever I was not around. His visits were often aggressive and disruptive,” Nwoko said.
He further alleged that Sammy and another associate, Lawrence, were responsible for introducing Regina to drugs, derailing her rehabilitation process.
“Lawrence and Sammy were the ones who first supplied her drugs. Rather than help her recover, they kept drawing her back into the habit,” he added.
The senator defended his decision to involve law enforcement, noting that Sammy “now needs professional rehabilitation and guidance rather than sympathy.”
He recounted a confrontation at his Abuja home, where he claimed Sammy stormed the residence around 4 a.m., shouting and demanding to face him after being asked to remove his girlfriend from the house.
“Without the influence of drugs, could he have been so bold and disrespectful?” he said.
Nwoko dismissed circulating videos alleging abuse, calling them “a staged Nollywood scenario” filmed in his absence to discredit him.
Reacting on Instagram, Regina Daniels admitted to past drug use but accused Nwoko of twisting the truth to manipulate public sympathy.
“Ned, how could you lie so openly? You know my family has nothing to do with this,” she wrote.
“Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us? You rushed to the public shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs’ because you knew it would distract everyone from the real issue.”
The actress accused her estranged husband of isolation tactics, claiming he targeted her family and friends to cut off her support system.
“You want to arrest everyone around me so I’ll have no one left. When I’m broken, you think I’ll run back to you,” she said.
Regina further accused the lawmaker of sexual assault, confinement, and forced medication, alleging that he seized her phones and instructed doctors to inject her with sedatives whenever she disagreed.
“You lock me up and have doctors inject me with drugs meant for people with bipolar disorder,” she wrote.
“You seize my phones for weeks because you hate that I talk to my family a lot.”
She also claimed Nwoko encouraged her drug use for his sexual pleasure.
“You said I’m ‘sexier’ when I’m high. You liked me that way because it made me wild and romantic — exactly how you wanted me to be.”
In her concluding remarks, Regina Daniels insisted there was no legal marriage between her and Nwoko, stressing that her relationship with the senator cost her “prime years and career opportunities.”
“We were never married in any court of law. No matter what you spent on me, it cannot equal the years and energy I gave you. Love is not by force,” she wrote.
The recent online confrontation follows weeks of reports about domestic violence and legal disputes between the couple. Nwoko had earlier blamed Regina’s alleged substance abuse for their marital crisis, while the actress maintained that his “controlling behaviour” caused the breakdown.
Following the dispute, Regina’s brother, Sammy, was arrested in Lagos and transferred to Abuja, where he was remanded in custody pending bail.
Amid the drama, Regina shared emotional clips of her parents’ reconciliation after years apart, saying it brought her hope during her “most difficult time.”
The public fallout between Nwoko and Regina Daniels has dominated Nigerian social media, drawing massive attention from fans, celebrities, and rights activists calling for restraint and family mediation.
