Niger Govt Commits N5 Billion to Reactivate Aviation College Mini Campus in Minna

Governor Mohammed Bago and NCAT Team

The Niger State Government has pledged ₦5 billion as seed funding to reactivate the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) mini campus at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna.

Governor Mohammed Bago made the announcement when he received the management team of NCAT, Zaria, during their visit to the airport. He said the funds would go into the construction of classrooms and hostels, paving the way for the reopening of the institution’s mini campus in Minna.

Boosting Aviation and Agro-Aviation Training

Governor Bago said his administration is determined to transform the Minna airport into a hub for aviation and agriculture, adding that the project would drastically reduce the costs of sending students abroad for aviation training.

“The reactivation of the mini campus will provide significant impact in terms of personnel training and expertise in agro-aviation business,” he said.

The governor emphasised that the state’s partnership with NCAT is long-standing and that reviving the campus will further strengthen collaboration between both parties.

Infrastructure Upgrade at the Airport

During the visit, the NCAT delegation toured the aviation fuel depot and an existing housing unit within the airport premises. Mr Bago disclosed that the current housing unit would be demolished to make way for a modern facility that would help address the housing deficit in the state and support the aviation college’s expansion.
