Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has embarked on a new chapter, signing with Paris Saint-Germain Féminine on a two-year contract, with an option to extend through 2027. The transfer comes on the heels of her standout performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where she led Nigeria to its record-extending 10th title and earned the Player of the Tournament award.
Following the expiration of her contract with Atlético Madrid, where she earned accolades as their Player of the Season and contributed significantly in goals and assists, Ajibade joins PSG as a free agent. Her arrival marks her as the third Nigerian to sign with PSG in succession, joining Jennifer Echegini and Nicole Payne, and the sixth overall Nigerian in the club’s history.
At WAFCON 2024, Ajibade wasn’t just Nigeria’s top performer—she was their emotional and tactical leader, styled “the driving force” behind Nigeria’s triumph. Her ability to perform under pressure and rally her team through adversity sealed her legacy. Ajibade joins PSG’s ambitious project to reclaim the Ligue 1 Féminine crown and make an impact in Europe’s elite competitions. Known for her speed, versatility, leadership, and consistency, she brings invaluable tactical flexibility and winning mentality to coach Paulo César’s squad.
In her first statement as a PSG player, Ajibade expressed her excitement:
