New Barcelona signing Marcus Rashford has heaped praise on teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, describing the 17-year-old’s talent as something far beyond his years.
Speaking to Spanish YouTuber xBuyer during a media session in Marbella, Rashford expressed amazement at what Yamal is already achieving on the pitch.
“He’s not supposed to be doing that at 16, 17 years old,”
Rashford said. “It’s hard to put into words.”
The England international, who officially joined Barcelona on a season-long loan on Wednesday, will now share both the pitch and the dressing room with Yamal as the Catalan giants prepare for the new LaLiga campaign.
Rashford reflected on his own career, noting that he made his senior debut at 18, and highlighted how exceptional it is for someone as young as Yamal to be thriving at the top level.
“He’s playing at 17 at the highest level. I don’t think we’ve seen it before.”
The 26-year-old added that every top footballer in the world would want to play alongside Yamal, describing the teenage forward as “the best.”
Yamal, who broke into Barcelona’s senior squad at just 15, continues to attract attention across the globe with his dazzling footwork, composure, and maturity on the ball — qualities that have clearly earned the respect of one of England’s most experienced forwards.
