World record holder Tobi Amusan is set to make her return to the 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Friday, June 20, where she’ll face one of the strongest fields of the season.
The Nigerian sprint hurdler last competed in the event at the Rabat Diamond League, where she stormed to a Season’s Best (SB) of 12.45s, comfortably finishing ahead of rivals Nadine Visser (12.67s) and Pia Skrzyszowska (12.69s). Now, she returns to the track aiming to secure back-to-back Diamond League victories and further sharpen her form ahead of the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo.
Amusan will line up against a formidable lineup that includes Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent, Stockholm Diamond League winner Grace Stark, reigning world indoor champion Devynne Charlton, former world record holder Keni Harrison, as well as Visser and Skrzyszowska.
The Nigerian star recently raced at the Racers Grand Prix in the flat 100m, clocking an impressive 11.18s to place fourth behind a trio of elite sprinters—Tina Clayton, Jacious Sears, and Alana Reid. With that performance under her belt, she’ll be looking to carry that form back to her signature hurdles event.
Amusan, who is known for building momentum as the season progresses, will be eyeing another fast time and confidence-boosting win in Paris, as she continues her path toward global glory later this summer.
