VeryDarkMan Calls Out Kiddwaya Over Benue Fundraiser, Cautions NGOs

Nigerian activist and social commentator, VeryDarkMan, has strongly criticized reality star and billionaire heir Kiddwaya for appealing to the public for donations following the recent attacks in Yelwata, Benue State.

Kiddwaya had earlier taken to X (formerly Twitter) to urge Nigerians to contribute funds for victims of the violence, a move that quickly attracted widespread backlash. Facing heavy criticism, Kiddwaya eventually deleted the post.

In a video response shared on X, VeryDarkMan called out Kiddwaya for what he saw as a hypocritical gesture. He questioned why someone who often flaunts his wealth online would suddenly turn to the public for financial support instead of personally funding the relief effort if his intentions were sincere.

“The first thing you do is write one post and then drop an account number. How would you know what the people in Benue need when you’ve never even been there? You just sit wherever you are and drop a random statement with a bank account,” VeryDarkMan stated.

The activist expressed satisfaction that Nigerians rejected Kiddwaya’s fundraising appeal so strongly that he was forced to delete it. “I’m happy Nigerians rebuked you. It sweet my body because you’re always bragging about your wealth, constantly showing off as if you’re better than every Nigerian,” he added.

VeryDarkMan didn’t stop at Kiddwaya. He also issued a stern warning to NGOs, cautioning them against exploiting the tragedy for financial gain. According to him, the primary issue facing Benue residents is not hunger but insecurity.

“To every NGO in the country that might want to take advantage of the Benue crisis: the people of Benue are not hungry. You collect money from government, claim you want to bring relief materials, then you deliver rice, beans, and garri. But food is not their problem — insecurity is,” he emphasized.

He went further to suggest a more meaningful approach to addressing the crisis. “If community leaders in the affected local governments can set up vigilante groups and get approval for arms from the Inspector General of Police, then we can share our NGO account number and invite Nigerians to contribute — even if it’s just five Naira each,” he proposed.

VeryDarkMan concluded by urging all Nigerians to step up and take action, stressing that mere words are no longer enough in the face of ongoing violence and insecurity.
