Yemi My Lover Accuses Olamide of Ignoring His Calls After Using His Name in a Song

Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Ayebo, popularly known as Yemi My Lover, has expressed disappointment over singer Olamide’s refusal to respond to his calls after referencing his name in one of his songs.

Speaking in a recent social media interview, the actor revealed that despite several artists and content creators using his iconic name in their works, he has never received any form of compensation. According to him, Olamide was the first musician to feature his name, which initially made him happy and brought him more popularity. However, efforts to establish direct contact with the singer have been unsuccessful.

“My name is blessed by God; that’s why people like Davido, Olamide, and many skit makers use it. But I’ve never been paid for it,” Yemi said. He recounted how Fuji star Pasuma once confronted him about the situation. “Pasuma asked me, ‘Yemo, did Olamide settle you for using your name?’ I told him I had never even met Olamide before, let alone received any form of settlement.”

Yemi explained that Pasuma attempted to mediate by calling Olamide directly. During that call, Olamide briefly spoke with Yemi and instructed him to get his phone number from Pasuma. However, after obtaining the number, Yemi claimed that all his attempts to reach the singer over the next six months went unanswered. “I called, I sent messages, but he never picked up or replied,” he lamented.
