Afrobeats global superstar Davido is pioneering a major shift in Africa’s live music industry by officially announcing the Davido Lagos residency—a landmark three-night concert engagement at the iconic National Theatre in Lagos from December 17 to 19.

Speaking in an interview with CNN, the 34-year-old singer revealed that the residency—titled “Oriadé: The Residency”—will combine tracks from his sixth studio album, Oriadé, with his extensive catalog of hits and surprise guest appearances.

The move marks one of the first multi-night arena residencies by a major Afrobeats artist on Nigerian soil, aiming to anchor global entertainment tourism directly in Lagos.

With Lagos serving as the ultimate hotspot for holiday travelers during “Detty December,” Davido aims to give international fans and returning diaspora citizens another compelling reason to experience authentic Nigerian culture firsthand.

Comparing the historic landmark to New York City’s premier venue, Davido emphasized the need to show the world that Africa possesses top-tier staging facilities capable of hosting world-class productions.
