Traumatized and Scalded: Anambra Police Finance Medical Care for Horribly Abused 10-Year-Old Boy
The Anambra State Police Command has stepped in to save the life of a 10-year-old boy who was brutally tortured by his own guardians. The young boy is currently receiving urgent medical treatment under heavy state protection.
This life-saving intervention comes right after a video showing the child’s horrifying injuries went viral on social media.
A Scalded Body and Unbearable Pain
The young victim, who was living with a couple in Isiowulu, Idemili North Local Government Area, was found with severe burns and open wounds covering all parts of his body. The injuries were allegedly inflicted on him by the very woman and husband who were supposed to protect him.
After seeing the heartbreaking video online and witnessing the child’s extreme pain in person, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka stepped in.
Anambra State Police spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, announced on Thursday that the Command has officially provided the money needed to fund the boy’s medical treatment and recovery.
“The gesture underscores the Command’s commitment to protecting vulnerable members of the society, especially children,” the police statement read.
No Mercy for the Guardians
The police have launched a massive investigation into the couple’s actions. They promised the public that anyone involved in this wicked act will face the full weight of the law.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reassured the public that the police will continue to work closely with child protection groups and government agencies to ensure children in Anambra State are safe from violence and neglect.
